EST (Electronic Security Technician)

Levels: EST 1 – EST 4

We service business and residential security systems across central Indiana. Our customers get the best of both worlds–the comfort and personal attention of a privately owned security company with world-class products, installation, customer service, and monitoring services since 2011. We seek a skilled tech to install and service electronic intrusion and fire alarm systems, CCTV video surveillance cameras, and access control systems. The technician will troubleshoot systems and perform necessary repairs during installation. We are looking for a candidate that can work with customers to meet, or better yet exceed their expectations.

If you are a hardworking and strategic thinker who excels at electronic troubleshooting, this may be the position for you! Only clean-cut and professional needs apply. All candidates are subject to random drug testing and thorough background checks due to the nature of our business.

We hire and promote based upon OnGuard’s 4Q’s Matrix (IQ, EQ, KQ & TQ)

Pay is commensurate on Certified Technician levels 0-4 ($12-35hr). Raises are based on a clearly defined merit evaluation system. Monthly bonuses are available for those who can produce quality and quantity work. Paid vacation time and other benefits included.

Qualifications for Electronic Security Technician:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Technical and/or military experience a plus.
  • Prefer > 3 yrs of experience within electronic security, IT and/or low voltage wiring.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in the documentation along.
  • Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 40 lbs. Climb ladders and scaffolding. Maneuver in attics.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check, and drug screening. If you can’t (or even a possibility of being disqualified, let’s not waste our mutual time).
  • Positive attitude, solution-minded winner.

We are looking for team players who are skilled and have the following aptitudes:

  • Mechanical (Good with tools, drills, building facilities)
  • Technological (Internet, Apps, Networks, Meters, Routers / Switches)
  • Problem Solving (Able to find solutions and overcome challenges, not whine and give up easily)
  • Communication (Adept and able to talk, write and type clearly with clients and co-workers)
